Uptown Loop on the Bus

A few days ago, my photographer friend Shoshana invited me to join her at her day job as a tour guide on the Uptown Loop of a Gray Line bus.  I hopped on at a stop near my apartment and got to see her in action.

I couldn’t believe the volume of relevant trivia she relates as the bus deftly makes its way around New York’s streets.  We swung around Grant’s Tomb,

drove up to Harlen, where there was a palpable street vibe – movement, music – the tourists loved it!

Headed east and traveled down Fifth Avenue, where someone was taking a break on the edge of Central Park.

Shoshana didn’t stop for a minute.  It was a bravura performance!  Great fun for a life-long New Yorker!
